ABOUT US

Jordan Excavating was established in 1976 and grew to a multi-million dollar company with successful sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer projects in locations throughout Alabama.  Its founder, Steve Jordan, set the pace with a tireless work ethic, a standard for quality work, and a sense of teamwork which developed repeat customers and a tremendous reputation in the industry.  Over the past few years Steve and his son-in-law, Rusty Palmer, who began working with Steve in 2008, completed a succession plan resulting in Rusty becoming President of the company.

Rusty Palmer

After completing his degree at Auburn University in Building Science, he began a career in the construction industry.  Rusty joined Jordan Excavating in 2008 and served as vice president for 12 years before becoming President in 2020.  He is married to his wife April and has three daughters.  Rusty is committed to delivering the great quality, service and teamwork Jordan Excavating has been known for over the years.

Bill Palmer
​- Director of Business Development
After 20 plus years in executive leadership roles, Bill joined Jordan Excavating in 2021.  He is committed to good communication and teamwork as core ingredients to serving clients well and strengthening relationships.  Bill is married to Susan and has three children and three grandchildren. ​

Alan Chappell
- Project Manager
His experience in the construction industry goes back to his teenage years, but officially full time in the industry in 2015.  He started with Jordan Excavating as Project Manager in 2018 and continues to serve clients and our team to make each project as successful as possible.  There is no one who is more detailed and able to work through everyday decisions to meet project expectations.  Alan is married to Melissa and has three children.

Brent Fields
​- Project Manager
Brent brings a variety of construction experience since 2011 and excels at coordinating, communicating and managing projects and people to achieve desired results.  He joined the team at Jordan Excavating in 2022 and oversees multiple projects across the state of Alabama.  Brent is married to Janna and has three children.

Brad Smith
​- Director of Field Operations
Brad is a graduate of Auburn University and has been working in the construction industry for the last 15 years.  He joined Jordan Excavating in 2018 and served as a superintendent for six years.  His experience has spanned large utility projects across the state of Alabama.  Today, Brad serves as the Director of Field Operations and focuses on project quality, safety, schedule, and communication. Brad is married to Natalie and has four children.
